SOLARIS at the first annual meeting of the Basque Solar Forum

The first annual meeting of the Solar Forum, held at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre, brought together key players from the photovoltaic sector to share advances shaping the future of solar energy innovation.

Cristobal Villasante Corredoira from Tekniker introduced the project under the project and its latest achievements. The SOLARIS project seeks to drive the growth and integration of PV systems across Europe and beyond by developing more efficient, reliable, and profitable operation and maintenance strategies. The project will create a comprehensive set of physical and digital tools to improve forecasting, optimise performance, and enhance maintenance, ultimately increasing solar plant efficiency and availability while reducing energy costs by 10%.

In addition to the technical presentation, the session also introduced the SOLARIS Stakeholders Forum, inviting participants to engage more closely with the project and contribute to its collaborative ecosystem. Attendees were encouraged to get in touch for further information and potential involvement.

The discussion generated strong interest from the audience, particularly around the project’s sensor technologies and the image analysis tool being developed by Technical University of Denmark. Several questions were raised during the Q&A session regarding the technical capabilities and practical applications of these developments. These questions were addressed during the discussion, and participants interested in learning more about DTU’s specific contributions were encouraged to connect directly with the relevant project representatives for deeper technical exchange.

The presentation underscored the critical role of collaborative European research in accelerating the energy transition. SOLARIS stands as a strong example of how digital innovation and clean energy can converge to deliver practical, high-impact solutions for the photovoltaic industry.
